Call modern-day flicks whatever you like but dare to call them dull at your own risk. What, with vampires, zombies and now werewolves, we’re definitely spoilt for choice. It’s 1891 in London and nobleman Lawrence (Benicio Del Toro) has just received a letter from his brother’s fiancée, Gwen (Emily Blunt) asking for his help after the disappearance of his brother. This forces Lawrence to re-unite with his estranged father, Sir John Talbot (Anthony Hopkins) for the greater good. Thanks to a little bit of digging, Lawrence soon discovers that something stronger than a normal human being has been terrifying the people of Blackmoor. Meanwhile, Scotland Yard inspector Francis Aberline (Hugo Weaving) is also busy looking into the suspicious activity but neither Aberline nor Lawrence are ready for the shocking discoveries they’re about to make. Not to mention, there’s going to be some very grisly discoveries along the way. Let’s just say, Lawrence’s family has some “interesting” skeletons in their closet!
