Restless highlights just how precious time and the ability to live for the moment is. Annabel (Mia Wasikowska) is dying of cancer and has roughly three months to live. Meanwhile, Enoch (Henry Hopper) is a young man who’s been plagued by death ever since his parents died in an accident. When the two meet at a funeral, their connection is immediate. Soon, Annabel is sharing her love of birds while Enoch is able to let someone in on his secrets, including the truth about his best friend Hiroshi (Ryo Kase), who’s actually the ghost of a World War II Kamikaze pilot. As the two continue to develop feelings for one another, they grow more vulnerable together – what they share is clearly precious. Director, Gus Van Sant once again delivers a powerful drama that allows his young leading talents to shine and reminds us that a lot can be achieved in just three months. Time’s ticking and Restless is waiting for you.
