This is 40
Release date: 16-05-2013
This semi-sequel to Knocked Up focuses its attention on Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) who are both on the verge of turning the big 4-0. Unsurprisingly, the milestone is forcing both of them to question who they are and more importantly, life in general. Pete and Debbie are looking for answers when it comes to their marriage, their careers and their children. Each aspect seems to have lost its thunder in recent times, something that Judd Apatow manages to perfectly accentuate in a way that forces us to understand the plight of each character. As Pete and Debbie’s birthdays etch closer, their stress levels are going through the roof. Don’t expect This is 40 to throw anything out of this world at you – the whole point of Apatow’s latest work is to address real issues and emotions that we all have to deal with at some point. It’s a real film for real people.
