Theres nothing we like more than a movie with a bit of guts and Green Zone certainly has enough gusto to contend that the Iraq war didnt go down quite the way the Americans would like us to believe. During the US-driven occupation of Baghdad back in 2003, an army of inspectors led by Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller (Matt Damon) are sent to find weapons of mass destruction, expecting to find them stockpiled in Baghdad among other locations. When the crew fail to find any deadly chemical agents but instead discover an elaborate cover-up, their mission is blown to pieces. Suddenly, theyre torn and Miller is forced to look for answers that will either uncover one massive lie or escalate the war even further. Not to mention, hes torn between two agents with very different agendas in Pentagon intelligence operative, Clark Poundstone (Greg Kinnear) and veteran CIA agent, Brown (Brendan Gleeson). Now thats not the kind of position wed like to be in! |
