Sometimes, even stories based on truth seem a little too hard to believe. The Men Who Stare at Goats is one of those kind of tales. Based on Jon Ronsons best-selling book, it explores the U.S. militarys attempts to use mind power to fight its enemies (thats pretty out there). Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor) is a Michigan journalist reporting in Iraq and may have just stumbled across the story of a lifetime after meeting Lyn Cassady (George Clooney) who claims that hes a former member of the U.S. Armys First Earth Battalion. Nothing strange about that so far right? Wait until you hear the full story. Lyn claims that his unit employed paranormal powers in their missions. Not following? Well give you an example: using men to stare down goats until their heart stops. Yeah its a little bizarre but armed with a killer cast including massive names such as Clooney, McGregor, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey, its a laugh-fest! |
