Were all for having fun with our movies but sometimes, its refreshing to see a flick that has a little more to it when you peel away its layers and Evil Angel certainly contains a deeper meaning than first meets the eye. Based on the Lilith legend of Jewish folklore, its all about how men perceive and relate to women in the larger scheme of things. According to Jewish legend, Adams first wife wasnt Eve but Lilith who demanded equality and in 2012, lets just say that Liliths taking back what she believes is rightfully hers. Shes laid claim to being the worlds first serial killer, something that John Carruthers (Ving Rhames), a hard nosed detective onto Liliths vicious ways, aims to stop in its tracks. Thanks to its rich historical background, clever editing and some pretty impressive performances from its cast, Evil Angel isnt your average horror flick. Most importantly, its director, Richard Dutcher doesnt forget to have fun along the way. |
