Hi there Insiders!

This fortnight, we aim to make you cry. No, we're not going to be making fun of you at the shop counter, but we are going to recommend you see Nights in Rodanthe, which is based on the book by Nicholas Sparks (he wrote The Notebook, don't you know). Starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane, this touching romance will both capture your heart, and make those tears flow. You better stock up on extra Kleenex before you hit play on this one.

Those of you who want some shocks and screams are well catered for over the next couple of weeks. Kiefer Sutherland leaps from 24 (and we presume that's a leap out of a burning helicopter about to smash into a skyscraper) into Mirrors, a fright-laden thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. And probably up half the night as well. And for those gore-hounds out there, Saw V hits our shelves too. Yes, there are more traps; yes, there's more bloodshed; and yes, you'll love every second of it.

And that's just the tip of the movie iceberg that is the next couple of weeks. Act like the Titanic and run straight into your local Network store today - you'll feel like the king of the world if you do.

We'll see you in-store.

Saw V
Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) might be dead, but his traps live on in this fifth Saw entry, which finds the series' production designer David Hackl at the helm for his debut directing gig. Costas Mandylor reprises his role as Hoffman, the detective whose involvement in the string of grisly murders turns out to be more than meets the eye. Picking up where the fourth entry left off, Hoffman is revealed to be a hidden accomplice in Jigsaw's grisly games of death, which look to be continued by the lawman.
How to Lose Friends and Alienate People
Sidney Young (Simon Pegg) is a disillusioned intellectual who both adores and despises the world of celebrity, fame and glamour. He works at Post Modern Review, where he goes against the grain and pokes fun at the media obsessed stars. So, when Young is offered a job at prestigious New York based Sharps Magazine, he thinks surely fame, success & beautiful women will follow... Pegg's character tries his version of "fitting in" with hilarious consequences!
Mirrors is the terrifying story of a troubled ex-cop, Ben Carson, who must save his family from an unspeakable evil that is using mirrors as a gateway into their lives. If Carson has any hope of saving his wife and children from a horrifying death, Carson must somehow uncover the truth behind the mirrors - and convince his estranged wife to help him battle the greatest evil he has ever faced.
Quantum of Solace
Quantum of Solace continues the high octane adventures of James Bond in Casino Royale. Betrayed by Vesper, the woman he loved, 007 fights the urge to make his latest mission personal. Pursuing his determination to uncover the truth, Bond and M interrogate Mr White who reveals the organisation which blackmailed Vesper is far more complex and dangerous than anyone had imagined.
Sex Drive
Eighteen year old Ian finally gets the opportunity to lose his virginity when a woman he meets on-line offers to have sex with him if he drives to Knoxville to meet her. Accompanied by friends Lance and Felicia, whom Ian has a thing for, but she in turn has a thing for Lance, take off on a road trip in Ian's brother Rex's beloved 1969 GTO - without permission of course.
Hell Ride
Hell Ride is a raucous throwback to the days of the Sergio Leone spaghetti western, with a heaping helping of testosterone-fueled chopper action thrown into the mix. Writer/director Larry Bishop takes on a third role as Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a group of badass bikers who are out to avenge the murder of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers.

Nights in Rodanthe (PG)

Adrienne Willis (Diane Lane), a woman with her life in chaos, retreats to the tiny coastal town of Rodanthe, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to tend to a friend's inn for the weekend. Here she hopes to find the tranquility she so desperately needs to rethink the conflicts surrounding her--a wayward husband who has asked to come home, and a teenaged daughter who resents her every decision. Almost as soon as Adrienne gets to Rodanthe, a major storm is forecast and Dr. Paul Flanner (Richard Gere) arrives. The only guest at the inn, Flanner is not on a weekend escape but rather is there to face his own crisis of conscience. Now, with the storm closing in, the two turn to each other for comfort and, in one magical weekend, set in motion.
He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not (M)

The adorable Audrey Tautou plays a charming, passionate artist fallen into rather unusual romance. An attractive girl living in the sunny town of Bordeaux, Angelique seemingly has the world at her feet - her handsome lover, a married doctor, is madly in love with her and her paintings are winning wide acclaim. But is her love blind? Suddenly neglected by her charismatic cardiologist, the smitten Angelique sends him flowers and leaves him endless phone messages of 'their' song. Overcome by a mad, sinister longing, the jilted lover finally plots an intricate revenge on the man that has abandoned her. A complex romantic thriller that sees the cute-as-pie Tatou brilliantly transform into a scheming vixen, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not is a dark, bittersweet exploration of human relationships and emotional attachment.
Choke (R18+)

Victor Mancini, a sex-addicted med-school dropout, who keeps his increasingly deranged mother, Ida, in an expensive private medical hospital by working days as a historical re-enactor at a colonial Williamsburg theme park. At night, Victor runs a scam by deliberately choking in upscale restaurants to form parasitic relationships with the wealthy patrons who "save" him. When, in a rare lucid movement, Ida reveals that she has withheld the shocking truth of his father's identity, Victor enlists the aid of his best friend, Denny and his mother's beautiful attending physician, Dr. Paige Marshall, to solve the mystery before the truth of his possibly divine parentage is lost forever.
Bones - Season 3 (MA15+)

When a routine murder investigation unearths the ghastly trail of a connibalistic sereal killer, forensic anthropologist Dr Temperance 'Bones' Brennan and F.B.I. Special Agent Seeley Booth must face the most baffling and gruesome case of their careers. While cracking caseloads full of underground extremists, sexual fetishism and charred corpses, the duo relies on Brennan's uncanny scientific ability, Booth's infallible instincts and a brilliant investigative team known as 'Squints'.
