Hi there Insiders!

Once again, we've got a smorgasbord of movie goodness for you this fortnight, and we'll kick it off with some of those moody, black wearing vampires. Yes, Twilight is about to hit our shelves, and aren't we excited. Straight from the pages of the smash hit book comes this tale of forbidden love and lingering thoughts, all set to a pulsing rock soundtrack. Now, if you've read the book (and our vaguely scientific research says that you have), you don't need us to pitch this to you. You already know that you want to see it, so sink your fangs into Twilight immediately.

If you like your sci-fi movies, then one you can't miss is The Day Earth Stood Still. A remake of the much loved '50s classic, this stars Keanu Reeves as an alien (yes, it is great casting) sent to deliver a message of warning. Of course, us trigger happy humans try to kill him, which sets off the giant death robot, and... look, it has a giant death robot, what more do you need? This is a great sci-fi thriller, and it boasts some big budget effects to experience too.

Kids, we haven't forgotten about you either. We know that you all loved Madagascar, what with the talking animals and all. So we think that you're also going to love the sequel: Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. It still has all the talking animal fun that you expect, along with some fantastic new characters. There's even a butt joke or two. Plus, check out that amazing animation - this is one good looking movie.

Whatever you're into this fortnight, your local Network store has it all for you. How good is that?

We'll see you in-store.

Twilight (M)

Following a move from Phoenix, Arizona to a small town in Washington state, a high school girl named Bella (Kristen Stewart) falls in love with Edward (Robert Pattinson), a vampire. The new couple leads a rival vampire clan to pursue them and attempt to force her to decide if she, too, wishes to become one of the undead.
Roman De Gare (Crossed Tracks) (M)

Director Claude Lelouch premièred Roman De Gare under a pseudonym, a fitting debut for a gripping psychological thriller rife with deception. Fanny Ardant plays an author of glossy thrillers who has just released her first literary novel. Meanwhile, a distraught woman has been dumped by her fiancé on the roadside, only to be picked up by a strange middle-aged man, who also claims to be Ardant's long-term ghostwriter. No one, it seems, is who they say they are. Pinon might also be an escaped serial killer known as the Magician, or a Parisian schoolteacher who has abruptly deserted his family. While the audience is hunting for clues to Pinon's identity, Dana enlists him to pose as her estranged husband-to-be, adding yet another layer of deceit.
Youth Without Youth (M)

Based upon the novella by Mircea Eliade, Youth Without Youth stars Tim Roth, Alexandra Maria Lara and Bruno Ganz. It is at once a poignant love story, political thriller, and lively philosophical quest. It poses a question: "Which is more important, love or knowledge"? And by its conclusion, answers it. Roth stars as Dominic Matei, an aging professor of linguistics who survives a cataclysmic event to find his youth miraculously restored. Dominic's physical rejuvenation is matched by a highly evolved intellect, which attracts the attention of Nazi scientists, forcing him into exile. While on the run, he reunites with his lost love, Laura (Lara), and works to complete his research into the origins of human language. When his research threatens Laura's well being, Dominic is forced to choose between his life's work and the great love of his life.
Gossip Girl Season 1 (M)

The beautiful Blair Waldorf is the toast of the adolescent population of Manhattan's Upper East Side, envied by her friends and the adversary of many fellow rich girls. Her ideal world begins to collapse, however, when her ex-best friend, freshly excluded from her previous boarding school, enrolls at Blair's private school.
Afro Samurai (MA15+)

Straight from the hit anime TV series to your console comes Afro Samurai, and as you'd expect, it's full of hack and slash action. Sporting the same look as the TV series, as well as the all-star voice cast (including Samuel L. Jackson, Ron Perlman and Kelly Hu), this is fast and furious gaming at its best. If you like the anime series, or just like games like Dynasty Warriors or Tenchu.
