Hi there Movie Clubbers!

It's another big fortnight of releases at your local Network store, but then again, isn't it always?

Let's kick off with a movie that rocks, the very aptly named The Boat That Rocked. Set in swinging sixties England, this very funny tale of a group of misfits running a pirate radio station from a boat in the international waters off the coast of England is full of great music and hilarious scenes. Plus, it's got a great comedy pedigree: written and directed by Richard Curtis (Love Actually), and starring Bill Nighy, Nick Frost, Rhys Ifans, Rhys Darby and Jack Davenport. Plus it's even got some proper serious actors too like, Emma Thompson, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Kenneth Branagh. This made us roll around like we were on the high seas, and you will too.

One of our modern movie heroes is the always stylish, suave and cool Clive Owen, and once again he plays to type in The International as the stylish, suave and cool Interpol agent Louis Salinger, who is out to prove that the huge International Bank of Business and Credit is funding terrorist activities. Of course, they aren't happy that they're being investigated, and they'll go to any means to stop people snooping. Also starring Aussie Naomi Watts, this is an edge-of-your-seat action thrill ride that you can't miss.

Hands up if you like books. Yep, that's what we thought - everyone likes books, whether they're fiction, non-fiction, picture, pop-up or just used to level out that wonky table. In Inkheart, Brendan Fraser leaps into the world of literature and becomes the hero of the story, fighting a rather nasty bad guy. Of course, if he loses, he'll be trapped in the book world forever, so he's going to have to win. This is a family adventure that both young and old will be entranced by, and is sure to be a new favourite.

Finally, we have to mention New in Town, starring Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick Jr. Zellweger plays a consultant sent to a small middle American town to close the main manufacturing plant in the area; Connick Jr plays the union official determined to stop her. But wait a second, they're both attracted to each other. OK, it's a romantic comedy, and we're sure you know what's going to happen, but this is great fun nonetheless. If you're in the mood for love, you could do a lot worse than this.

And don't forget that the Cans4Films Festival is currently running in participating Network stores across the country. Donate a can of food at your local store, and we'll pass on your can to The Salvation Army to provide hunger relief, and we'll even give you a free weekly rental to say thanks. Hey, we're sure you've got a spare can of baked beans somewhere that can go to better use, why not get a free movie out of it?

We'll see you in-store.
