Hey Insiders,

We're looking down the barrel of the silly season and the studios are sending out a sleigh-load of titles, with December set to rival November's monster swag of movies.

The battle of the threequels continues as Shrek 3 comes bounding into stores, but it will have competition in weeks to come as The Simpsons Movie will be bringing everyone's favourite four-fingered family to DVD, and Die Hard 4.0 will see the return of Detective John McClane in the biggest Die Hard yet.

November releases like Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix are still hot and while they're the biggest names right now, some great Aussie flicks like Romulus, My Father and Clubland have been flying below the radar but slowly getting attention and building up a following.

2007 is almost over, but 2008 is already shaping up to be a great year, and you can make the most of it with our Movie Greats calendar - it features all the greatest films, all year long!

See you in-store.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - At World's End

Jack Sparrow had been taken to the depths of the sea by the feared Kraken sea-monster, which is a spot of bother as Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann wouldn't mind having him around as they sail off the map to stop Lord Beckett from controlling the oceans and the seas. Can they find Jack and beat the bad guys?
I Think I Love My Wife
Richard, a man with a good job, a good house, two good children, and Brenda his beautiful wife of seven years. But things have cooled off in the bedroom to the point where Richard is starting to look elsewhere. Into his life walks Nikki, an old (and very sexy) friend. Soon they are flirting with each other, but will Richard go all the way and cheat on his wife?
Perfect Creature
For three hundred years, vampires and humans have lived in peaceful co-existence. But when a rogue vampire starts killing humans, a human policewoman and a vampire must work together to prevent a war between the two races.

The Simpsons Movie
Homer must save the world from a catastrophe that he himself has created a catastrophe that involvesÉa spider pig.
License To Wed
Sadie has dreamed of her wedding day for years, and now she's got her perfect man in Ben. Sadie's dreams, however, didn't take into account the fact that her local church only has one available slot in the next two years, and it's only three weeks away. The minister, Frank has a prenuptial course that the couple must pass before he marries them, but neither realise how intrusive this course will be.
Linda seems to have the perfect life. Disaster strikes when a cop arrives at her front door to tell her that Jim, her husband, has died in a car crash. The next day Linda wakes up to see Jim sleeping beside her, and she thinks it was just a vivid dream. Then the following day goes back to the 'Jim is dead' timeline. Linda must find out the secret about the two timelines to prevent Jim from dying.

Shrek The Third (PG)

Princess Fiona's father passes away, and Shrek and Fiona are next in line to the throne. This doesn't sit well with the notoriously reclusive ogre, so the next heir in line is nominated, the nerdy Arthur Pendragon. But while Shrek, Donkey and Puss in Boots train Arthur in his kingly duties, the bitter Prince Charming has plans of his own.
Evening (M)

Evening details the past and present of 65 year-old Ann. When Ann reveals the name of her one true love to her daughters, we embark on two journeys: her daughters' quest to find out who this man is; and Ann's reminiscences about her past, when she was only a young woman and a summer weekend led to a never-ending love.
Romulus, My Father (M)

Romanian immigrant Romulus, his German wife Christina and their young son Raimond are doing their best in the face of poverty and unfamiliarity, but Christina proves to be unstable as both a mother and wife. While Romulus strives to be a strong and moral role-model, Christina's actions may push him over the edge.
Thank God You're Here (PG)

You're about to open the door to a whole new world of entertainment. Watch as some of your favourite celebrities walk through the door into the unknown. It's all about the enjoyment of seeing them pushed into their discomfort zone, where they have to think on their feet, lie and deceive.
Assassin's Creed (MA 15+)

You are Altair, an elite assassin in the 12th century. You must use your unique skills and weapons to kill your targets without being detected. Interestingly, Assassin's Creed uses real-life history to create its story, and the developers have focused on the game's attention to detail. Overseas critics are already raving about this action/adventure game, so don't miss out on one of the experiences of the year.
